To begin with, about four years ago, we moved from Saskatchewan to Quebec, just west of Ottawa in the Pontiac region. In Saskatchewan, we farmed nearly 2000 acres of grain and raised Clun Forest sheep. While we don't grain farm anymore, we still raise sheep for meat and wool. The Clun Forest is a breed of domestic sheep originating from the area surrounding the Clun Forest in Shropshire, England. Similar to many of the British breeds of upland sheep, Clun Forest are hardy, adaptable, good foragers, and are long–lived. For more infomation on this breed, please follow this link.
Now, we have entirely shifted gears going from grain farming to exclusively raising sheep and selling them. Now that we are in Quebec, there is a lot more opportunity to diversify with sheep.
Our flock is constantly expanding and lambs are being sold nearly weekly.
